The template used to post inquiry lessons/units was designed to offer flexibility. Whatever model of inquiry you followed in creating your unit/lesson, you will find a place in this template to post the required elements. (These original units developed by The da Vinci Academy (Unit 1 Unit 2) followed slightly different formats but are now shared to others via the Inquiry Units Database.)
The following fields are required to create a new unit record: login, password, school, submitted by, contact email address, title, author(s), level(s), subject area(s), summary, essential question, Colorado content standards, and information literacy standards. (See Sample Input Form.)
Although you are not required to enter data in every field, you are encouraged to fill out the template completely. Questions asked for each field are meant to guide you in what kind of information should be entered.
It is also important to note that units are not automatically posted to the web. The system manager is notified when a unit is added or edited. The system manager reviews units before they are posted. Units may also be updated if you find new resources or develop additional materials in the future.
